Grattan Brown, S.Th.D
In college I came to believe that God exists, that there are communities in which to learn about God, and that I would look first in the Catholic Church, in which I was raised. Having a scholarly bent, I studied the Catholic intellectual tradition to understand God and to learn a way of life.
I look for wisdom in the virtue and natural law traditions, biblical wisdom literature, and Catholic medical, marital and social ethics. I have a heart for mentoring and help people from diverse religious and non-religious traditions to improve their performance and develop a sense of purpose to pursue in life and work. I also collaborate with professionals of religious and secular backgrounds in higher education, healthcare and business. I have written and taught about bioethics, liberal arts, and the moral culture of democracy and capitalism.
I have a compelling interest in:
Education because learning enables people to know themselves, their society, and the subjects meaningful to them in life and work
Biotech because it integrates the humanities, science and technology to enhance human wellness and to shape our views of being human
Business because high performance work provides resources, cultivates character and happiness, and expands social freedom
Find my professional activities on my LI page, but in sum: 20+ years of learning and teaching the humanities to enable private and non-profit organizations to identify problems, conceive solutions, and better educate students, patients, and customers..
